Popular souvenirs from Hiroshima

I'm from Tokushima and have lived in Tokushima for more than ten years. Therefore I am not so familiar with Hiroshima. Through my college life, I want to get to know more about Hiroshima. In this article, I will write about some famous souvenirs from Hiroshima, for you and myself.

The first souvenir is "Momiji Manju", a maple leaf-shaped steamed bun. It's no exaggeration to say that this is the most famous souvenir from Hiroshima. There are a lot of various flavors such as chocolate, cream, green tea flavor, and so on. Of the many kinds of flavors, the most popular is the sweet bean jam flavor. When I go to my hometown, I often take some Momiji Manju as souvenirs.

The second is "Kumano brushes". The brushed are for writing, makeup, and paint, and so on. Kumano brushes have accounted for about 80% of the total domestic production of Japanese brushes.

The third is "Lemon Cake". In Hiroshima Prefecture, a lot of lemons are produced, so there are many kinds of lemon flavor sweets in Hiroshima. One of them is "Lemon Cake". I have eaten some lemon cakes before, and it was delicious.

    1. Thank you for the comment!
All I knew about Kumano brushes was that Nadeshiko Japan was given the brushes as a memento of the People's Honor Award. So, I was surprised at how popular Kumano brushes are, too!
