My favorite songs

イメージ
One of my favorite things is to listening to music. Although I recently started playing the acoustic guitar, I'm still just a beginner. Therefore I feel much happier when I listen to good songs than when I play it unskillfully. I would like to introduce three songs and musicians which I want to recommend. You may already know the songs below.      ・The first song is "Stand By You" (Official HIGE Dandism) . Rhythmical claps and chorus, and the repeated phrase "stand by you" make this song absorbing. In addition, when they perform this in concerts, this song shows its true value, call and response with audience.      ・The second song is " WHO'S GONNA KNOCK THE DOOR? "(Ozawa Kenji) . Cheerful and upbeat lyrics are characteristic of this song. He described the happiness of lovers. I don't have a lover, but this song always makes me have a fun.      ・The third song is "Golden moon"(Suga Shikao) . What I guess from the lyrics is regre

New Challenge

(This guitar is the same type as mine.)       I started playing the acoustic guitar as my new hobby. It makes a relatively big sound without being connected with an amplifier, so I can practice it when there are few people around my room.       Playing the guitar is harder than I had expected. In order to accompany musics, I must learn many kinds of chords, correct fingering, how to picking efficiently, and so on...      I have practiced the guitar for around two months, but I made little progress. Now I am narrowly able to play "Pretender", Japanese famous pop song, throughout from memory. Recently I haven't had much time to practice it, so would like to spare much more time for playing the guitar in the not too distant future.

My favorite novel

イメージ
Let me introduce my favorite novel. It is "The Woman in the Dunes", written by Abe Kobo.      A middle-aged man went to a dune to catch insects, and then went missing... This is the outline of the novel.      Abe Kobo used graphic, vivid, and lively metaphors. If you read this novel and imagine the scenes from the lines, you may get the feeling as if you were eating dry sand.

Visited Hiroshima city

イメージ
The other day I visited Hiroshima city, the capital of Hiroshima prefecture, with two friends of mine. We are all from Tokushima, which is relatively the countryside in Japan. Therefore we were surprised and impressed with how urbanized and refined it is. The picture below is attracting for me.        First, We visited the Atom bomb dome and studied the history of Hiroshima city.      Lastly we went to Hiroshima Castle. It was beautiful and magnificent enough to overwhelm us.

Travel to Miyajima Island

イメージ
The day before yesterday I went on a trip to Miyajima island with two friends of mine. We took the train to the Miyajima-guti station and then went to the island by ferry.      There are many wild deer in the island. They were so accustomed to humans that they didn't show a special reaction or response to us.      Unfortunately, the front guard frame of Itsukushima Shrine, one of the symbols of Miyajima was under construction. What a bad timing!

Today I listened to a podcast called "strange idioms(1)" . They talked about strange and interesting idioms used among English and Japanese people. For example, when an English people is nervous, he or she says that "I have butterflies in my stomach.".

About my hometown

I am a student at Hiroshima University, so I now live in Saijo-cho, east-hiroshima city. But my hometown is Tokushima. I had lived in Tokushima for 12 years. Let me introduce my hometown. Tokushima is one of the prefectures in Shikoku region, and borders on Kagawa, Ehime, and Kouchi prefecture. This prefecture is famous for "Awaodori" , or the traditional dance. It takes place once a year and is the greatest event in Tokushima. Many people enjoy dancing. Whirling current in the Naruto Strait (called Uzushio of Naruto) is one of scenic and magnificent tourist sites. Seen from the Naruto great bridge, you will be overwhelmed.
